And what about the writing you may ask? Yeah, Im a good writer, I can totally appreciate that. I think Im more of an effective writer than an inspired one however. And besides, I dont want to live my life again. At least not the part where Joanne was the central figure in it which was pretty much every single breath I took until I was about 34 and was for the most part, pretty awful. I will continue to write as it pleases me but not about Joanne or a very confused and frightened little boy because thats ancient history. Then theres the fashion thing; fashion is my way of expressing my individuality. It pisses me off when other people dress like me. So I dont think I would make a very good wardrobe stylist. So we arrive at interiors and the home. Home and the depth of its meaning had always been a totally strange and foreign albeit enviable concept to me. My little apartment here on Nob Hill has saved my life in every way a brick and mortar structure can save and inspire a life. It has allowed me to express myself in ways Id never known. So many friends have called my apartment a second home to them and so many wonderful parties have taken place here and the inspired conversations Ive enjoyed with others and the things Ive learned along with the anguish of sleepless nights and searching for logic and reason to questions that will forever remain unanswered. This dear 655 has facilitated a grace and serenity and sense of family and hearth that even when the sink is piled high with dishes and my foyer is a huge central revolving repository of things on their way out still not a day has passed in nearly a decade that I havent breathed a huge sigh of happiness when I cross its threshold every time I return home. And I know nothing in the world would thrill and engage me more than to help others visualize the heart within every home. So tis interiors I shall try my hand at for I feel confident this is an area where I can excel.
