"And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap - TopicsExpress

"And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God." Leviticus 23:22 She sat under a tree as the servant gleaned the wheat. Up it went - the lighter chaff blowing away, down the heavier wheat would fall. She was waiting until he was done and to gather the grains of wheat that had fallen on the ground, it would be her meal for the day. As she waited she noticed people walking quickly and pointing, she turned in the direction they pointed to and saw a man surrounded by people. Wheat forgotten she strained to see who he was and she thought “Who is that? I feel as if I should know him”. She noticed the servant had stopped working and was hurrying towards the house; she quickly gathered enough to eat and turned towards the crowd that was sitting on the hill. “So this is Jesus the people are talking about” she thought. “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Matthew 6:26) he was saying and thinking of the food she had just eaten “Thank you God” she whispered – “And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:27) “Who says such things?” she wondered; sitting a little closer listening intently. He spoke of so many things, with authority but with gentleness, speaking as if He knew each person and spoke with a great love for them, but how can that be? He walked amongst the crowd and when He got to her He stopped lifted her chin “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”. (Matthew 6:33) Warmth spread through her along with the certainty that God Himself was standing before her! He smiled once more before He continued walking and teaching and she knew her life had changed in that instant and she would never be the same again. A chance encounter or a divine appointment?
