Andean Condor - Hacienda Zuleta, Ecuador. I was fortunate to be able to do research on this species a couple years ago, and over the course of 5 weeks had nice range of encounters with this massive species. Resembling the likes of a small aircraft, the Andean Condor is the largest flying avian species in the world by weight (although the Royal Albatross may have the widest wing span, but not by much) They can be intimidating and endearing, and touch upon every disposition in between, usually accompanied by ample amounts of hissing and glaring.The flight shot, which is not cropped, was literally the last picture I took, on the last day of research...and shooting full frame, you can imagine the emotions as the sight and sound grew closer and louder.
