Anette Stephens and I decided to take a couple hours Saturday and hike to Cecret Lake above Alta ski resort. Easy hike, except: 1. It starts at 9,400 feet. That whole less oxygen when you are up high is real. 2. We parked in the wrong area, which ended up adding about a mile to our hike. 3. At one point we opted for a shortcut. Im not sure of the official name of the route we chose, but we now refer to it as the cliffs of death. Luckily we survived and Im a little surprised we did not see any mountain goats. 4. Icy wind.
