Angels appointment went well overall. The dev pediatrician asked me a bunch of social and developmental history questions. She also confirmed that he still fits the criteria for autism under the DSM-V and C.A.R.S . Angel did several tests including drawing, writing, addition, spelling etc. Some of it he needed help with and some he did independently. I used grapes as reinforcers throughout the testing. All was well until it was time for his physical exam. Then he completely lost it and had a major meltdown. He is terrified of any doctors examination table. He even ran into the hallway in his boxers and t-shirt screaming. The whole time she was patient and kind. I am interested in seeing what her assessment tells us. Today was quite an adventure and I am exhausted (physically and mentally).
