It is now clear that; by signing of the SGR agreement, the Government of Kenya is now fully committed to giving us and our children’s children, a huge debt that we will forcefully incur for ages to come. Remember, the SGR is entirely being built by public funds. 90% of the Shs 314 billion has been borrowed from China, which we shall be paying at a 4% rate (God knows for how long) and 10% of the same billions to be paid for by Kenyans. Note the ongoing over-taxation and the high cost of living that we are currently experiencing. Bear in mind that, Kenyas debt has tripled over the last 10 years. The debt load crossed the 50% of the GDP mark late last year to stand at Sh2.11 trillion. My worry is, if we citizens of this country are to be committed to this kind of debts and underground deals being done by masters of manipulation, then we MUST DEMAND for clear information and Transparency in all agreements being signed by the Government. FYI: Parliament has not even had a glimpse of the Exim bank of China financing agreement for scrutiny. There you go… We are lacking essential information and the right to public participation as provided for in the Constitution, which they willingly swore and said “In the name of the Almighty God, I solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the People and the Republic of Kenya; that I will obey, respect, uphold, preserve, protect and defend this Constitution of the Republic of Kenya blah blah blah.” And So they LIED. We are Literally Being Screwed and our constitution being RAPED left, right and center. As Macharia Gaitho rightly put it, The Chinese did not come here on charity: We’ll pay through the nose!!
