Box 400, The Valley, Anguilla, British West Indies Tel: (264) 497-5200 Fax: (264) 497-5440 PRESS RELEASE Fuel Surcharge Reduction ANGLEC wishes to advise the public that effective January 15th, 2015 the fuel surcharge will be decreased from 35¢ per Kilowatt hour (KWh) to 22¢ per KWh (a decrease of 13¢ per KWh). This decline represents the second surcharge decrease since October 2014 and a total decrease of 51%. For a household using an average of 1,000 KWh, this translates to a savings of roughly $137 a month or approximately 13%. This decrease is a reflection of the declining average cost of fuel incurred by ANGLEC. This decrease has been applied in accordance with the Electricity (Rates and Charges) Regulations, which governs the application of the surcharge by the Anguilla Electricity Company Limited. Despite the decline in rates, we highly encourage our customers to employ energy conservation methods. Remember, you can reduce your energy use by turning off the hot water valve typically installed under all sinks. This uses less hot water and less electricity. Use energy efficient bulbs and only use air condition units when necessary. We continue to monitor the price of fuel and keep the fuel surcharge under active review.
