Angus King, with some help from others, is responsible for the massive growth of subsidies for wind power in Maine, which whatever else you want to say about it, is an incredibly expensive source of energy for Mainers, and raises your electricity bill. He pushed and signed the Renewables Portfolio Standard in Maine, which has been a driving force for pushing aside cheap energy (Canadian Hydro, for instance) options, in favor of wildly expensive alternative energy sources. Now he stands in the way of the Keystone Pipeline. Folks, the cost of energy is a problem for everyone in Maine. It is a problem for the poor and working class who struggle to heat their homes and pay for electricity. It is also a problem for businesses, who face unbelievably difficult situations when they purchase energy, particularly because they do so in bulk and a cost difference of only a few pennies can mean hundreds of thousands of dollars in expenses. It is time to call out the people who have engineered this crisis in Maine, and New England as a region. Angus King is one of the worst offenders. Not only was he instrumental in the creation of this upside down, expensive, counterproductive energy market in Maine, but he personally profited millions of dollars from doing so. He deserves a phone call from you, and to be told what an incredible disappointment he has been, and that you plan to hold him accountable with your friends and neighbors, and at the ballot box.
