Animal Shelter Director Richmond County is recruiting for a full-time Animal Shelter Director. This position will be responsible for supervising the operations of the Animal Shelter, including staff and volunteers; making sure the shelter is run in accordance of all applicable local and state rules; ensuring that procedures are followed to maintain public safety and health as well as ensuring that the animals in the shelter receive proper care and treatment. Develops, promotes and conducts public education programs concerning responsible animal ownership. Oversees procedures related to quarantining, impounding and care of injured animals. Acts as a liaison with the public, various agencies and departments, other animal organizations, and state agencies. Candidates must have a High School Diploma and any combination of education and experience equivalent to two years of service in the following: business management/administration, public administration, animal science, agriculture, criminal justice, or related field, and some experience in animal shelter operations and or animal care, including supervisory experience. Qualified individuals must complete a PD-107, state application with Employment Security Commission. Application deadline is November 12, 2014.
