Animals Australia working worldwide to protect animals from cruelty #banliveexport #kinderworld How many times have we heard from the knockers that Animals Australia dont do anything to improve animal welfare here or internationally? Plenty of times. Well read for yourself how their international work is creating positive change across the globe. Animals Australia collaborates with other animal protection groups overseas, including Compassion in World Farming (United Kingdom), NSPCA (South Africa), Animals Angels (Germany), Eyes on Animals (Holland), SPARE (Egypt); the Princess Alia Foundation (Jordan); and Anonymous for Animal Rights and Let the Animals Live (Israel). Cooperating with and supporting international organisations means we can help improve the welfare of animals globally, not just those from Australia. Through their investigations into live export cruelty, they have also provided evidence to relevant international authorities of the abuse of animals from countries including Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, Uruguay and South Africa. They consistently raise concerns with the OIE (World Organization for Animal Health) to help ensure the implementation of minimum OIE guidelines. In Egypt they have been working with local groups since 2001; helping to generate unprecedented awareness of animal welfare issues, and assisting with the drafting of animal welfare legislation. In Mauritius, they are testing new animal welfare laws with a detailed legal submission related to live export cruelty. They have worked with an Australian expert in Jordan since 2007 to help improve and upgrade the countrys slaughter facilities –- which affects local as well as Australian animals. Evidence they documented in the West Bank will be included in a film to be shown to the EU Parliament in January about the treatment of EU animals exported to other countries. In Israel, their work with animal advocates to expose cruel practices at a major abattoir led to four people being charged with cruelty offences. banliveexport/features/working-worldwide-protect-animals.php
