Ann Cordell Lamb, 88, a lifelong resident of Walker and Catoosa County, Georgia, passed from this life on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Ann, the daughter of the late Rev. Henry S. and Frankie Pease Cordell was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Lamb, siblings, Robert (Eleanor) and Frank (Mary Lou) Cordell, Hattie (Roscoe) DeBord, Laura (Levoy) Stephenson, Mary (Paul) Ezell and Dovie (James) Manning all of Walker County. She is survived by her son, Don & (Peggy) Lamb, grandson, Greg & (Crystal) Lamb; great grandchildren, Haden and Raegan Lamb, Loving friend and companion Jerry Brite, two nieces, two nephews and God child, the former Monica Smith. Ann retired from the Catoosa County Board of Education Central Office in 1986. She previously retired from Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company. She attended Clearview Baptist Church since 1956, having joined that Church in 1963. She and her husband Ray were actively involved with most of the Church activities, having served as youth director, director of Vacation Bible School and active in Leadership of other Church groups. She wrote a Clearview Church news column for Catoosa County News for 20+ years. Ann and her late husband Ray enjoyed the beauties of nature and the great outdoors. They spent much time at their summer cabin in Birchwood, TN. Anns main interest and hobbies included working with handicapped, church activities, writing poetry, photography, genealogy and other research. She was known for her poetry writing, etc. She greatly enjoyed having a small garden and sharing with her neighbors, friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Herman Kapherr officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
