Anna Wintour’s Daughter Bee Shaffer Is ‘Not Very Interested In Fashion’ Photo: WENN Going off of “The Devil Wears Prada,” being Anna Wintour’s daughter seems to mean advance access to unreleased Harry Potter books and front-row seats to parental fights, not fashion shows. But in real life, it’s naturally quite different. Bee Shaffer, Anna Wintour’s only daughter–she also has a son, Charles Shaffer–recently sat down with Teen Vogue‘s Andrew Bevan to talk about what it’s like being the offspring of fashion’s first lady. For the record, there are lots of fashion shows involved. In their video for the series “Breakfast With Bevan,” Shaffer refers to her oft-cited “cold” mother as “efficient” and “the most caring person I know,” but admits to ultimately not wanting to follow in her footsteps. There are, however, obvious bits of her mother’s influence that creep up throughout the interview, there’s no way there wouldn’t be. They’re both morning people who go to bed and wake up early, and Bee reveals that “punctuality” is her favorite word, and that she “doesn’t understand people who are late.” Sounds like efficiency is a family trait, to us. In terms of nepotism possibly playing a role in Bee’s career in fashion, it was pretty much out of the question from the get go. “I never thought I was going to work in fashion; it never occurred to me,” she told Bevan. Bee’s original dream was to be a journalist, like her grandfather and uncle before her, and much like her mother. She did a bunch of internships and ended up finding a love of entertainment. She recently moved back to NYC from LA to work with Seth Meyers on “Late Night.” As for her personal style, fashion’s first kid actually isn’t really that into fashion–though she does clean up pretty well to go to the Met Gala each year (check out all her past dresses in the video below). “I’ve never been very fashion forward; I’m not very interested in fashion. I’m 5’5″ and have huge boobs, I’m not going to wear the same thing as Karlie Kloss,” she revealed. Instead she opts for the classic jeans and t-shirt combo, a forever-stylish duo if there ever was one.
