Anne Harbron has asked me to share this Re: the new legislation in Cyprus affecting dogs owners in apartments etc... this has come from a Lawyer... Look if you have for example 3 dogs in your apartment and the rest of the people leaving in the same building are ok with it and if you have your dogs registered to the municipality then no law that will come can change what was before. For example if a new law comes today that only 1 dog is allowed it means that any person who takes a dog from today can not another one. Now there is no law saying how many dogs you are allowed to have You are allowed to have them in the balcony but not to be their permanent resident. Balconies and roof gardens as permanent resident of a dog is not allowed No one can take your dog away from the moment you had a dog before any law. There is human rights law and large amout of compensation in such a case. So we have it in writing.. Its time to fight because we have a right to have our dogs with us, and that includes them to be allowed on the balcony... There is a law against discrimination and it does not matter that we are not Cypriot ... WE HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS...
