Announcement: BOURNVILLE VILLAGE CONSERVATION AREA – TIMBER WINDOW POLICY REVIEW - UPDATE Bournville Village Trust recently carried out a consultation with the residents of the Bournville Village Conservation Area to establish residents’ appetite for relaxing the Trust’s current policy, to allow UPVC framed products, including windows, on the rear of houses in the Bournville Village Conservation Area. The results showed that, of those residents who responded, 82% were in favour of changing the current Timber Window only policy. Therefore, following support from the Estate Management and Scheme Committee, the policy will be relaxed with immediate effect to allow UPVC doors, windows, conservatories, lantern lights and orangeries on the rear elevation only, on properties in the Bournville Village Conservation Area. A Timber window only policy, will remain for all other house elevations. Trustees’ consent will still be required for any UPVC window, door, conservatory and orangery replacement or installation, and an application will be required by the Trust. All UPVC alterations must be designed sympathetically and in keeping with the original design of the house, with surface mounted bars included where Georgian bar style is appropriate.
