Announcement: For the first time in Jordan, We announce that the registration for: Evidence based approach to the rehabilitation of the shoulder pathologies and post-surgical conditions, has just started. The course will take place on a full Friday at Al-Altamayuz physiotherapy center in 16/05/2014. At the end of the course, the participants should be able to: • Address the shoulder girdle anatomy, tissue histology, tissue pathological changes in various conditions and recent advances in tissue engineering and stem cells treatment in certain shoulder conditions. • Address and assess in details the shoulder girdle mechanics and pathomechanics. • Confidently palpate and recognize different shoulder structures. • Confidently examine and conduct a differential diagnosis process to come with a precise diagnosis. • Confidently set and conduct a proper treatment plan. • Confidently evaluate post surgeries and conduct a proper treatment plan. The following subjects will be discussed on the course: • Advanced shoulder Anatomy, tissue histology and pathohistology of the shoulder. • Advanced shoulder mechanics, pathomechanics and clinical assessment of the shoulder mechanics in the context of shoulder pathologies. • Advanced palpation skills of the bony and the muscular structures. • Advanced evidence based approach to the examination and differential diagnosis of the shoulder conditions. • Laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging of the shoulder conditions. • Recent advances in tendinopathy in the context of research and clinical cases. • The decision making process in the development of treatment plans for the shoulder conditions according to the recent guidelines by the American Physical Therapy Association • Manual therapy and exercise approach to the shoulder. Everything you need to know. • Shoulder surgical conditions assessment and treatment plans. The following conditions will be discussed: o Rotator cuff reconstruction. o Labral arthroscopic surgeries. o Shoulder stabilization surgeries. o Acromial debridement and Bicep Tenodesis surgeries. This course includes intensive practical part. We recommend that participants come dressed in comfortable cloths. A course manual will be provided to all participants. This is an evidence based medicine course. All provided information will be based on research and the treatment procedures will not be biased toward a particular school of manual therapy. The lecturer bio: Hadi Samaneh is an orthopedic physical therapist. He achieved his master degree in orthopedic physical therapy from university of Pittsburgh. He underwent and completed a clinical residency advanced specialty in orthopedic physical therapy at New York University where he subspecialized in sports medicine cases. He Passed the American board of physical therapy and the clinical exam of the orthopedic physical therapy residency. He is currently involved in researching the area of tendinopathy and tissue changes of tendons. He is a member of the American physical therapy association and the orthopedic section of the American physical therapy association.
