Announcement for those interested in the corrosion phenomenon The Third International Corrosion Engineering Conference (3rd ICEC) and 8th Libyan Corrosion(8th Libyancorr) Conference and Exhibition will be held as joint event On 14 – 16 April, 2014 at Benghazi (Libya). The ICEC is a triennial event. The first conference was organized in Seoul (South Korea) during 20 – 24 May, 2007 and the second was organized in Hanoi (Vietnam) during 24 – 27 October, 2010. Both events were successful which were attended by large number of participants. Libyancorr is a biennial event and this event is the eighth in this series. This joint event will be organized by Libyan Corrosion Society (LCS) In cooperation with the National Oil Corporation, NACE and National Agency for Scientific Research and sponsored by numerous key stakeholders from oil industry with the Ministry of Industry. Libyan Corrosion Society, invite all interested participants to attend this joint event of conferences and exhibition. It will be an open forum for the presentations and discussions of recent topics on corrosion phenomena and corrosion prevention methods and techniques. It will be three day gathering, open to all interested participants, which will provide opportunities to meet and discuss corrosion professionals from academic and research institutions, industry leaders, decision makers, and service providers from all over the world. We have planned to organize exciting programs during this event. The technical program will cover diversified topics related to corrosion phenomena and its prevention methods and techniques. The program will include presentations from keynote speakers, invited speakers, contributed oral and poster presentations, panel discussions and workshops. The exhibition, running parallel with technical presentations, will provide opportunity to display new developments in corrosion related technologies, latest products and services. This event will also provide an ideal opportunity to build a human network for a close collaboration on a broad international basis. The formal sessions will include the following topics: • Cathodic protection • Chemical Treatment • Corrosion monitoring and inspection • Cost of corrosion • Materials and Welding • Non-metallics • Protective Coatings • Water treatment • Corrosion predictions • Corrosion management The abstracts will be reviewed by international scientific committee.
