Anns surgery finished up around 3 pm yesterday (Friday, Jan. 23). It took between 6 and 7 hours. There were no surprises. They did what they previously thought would need to be done. The surgeon is encouraged. John Mark and Joseph stayed with their mother through the night while she rested. I cant get out of my mind the two reactions to open heart: 1. I felt like I had been hit by a truck, and 2. I felt like I had just run an ultra marathon. In my mind I see my delicate, beautiful wife in her track outfit just past the marathon finish line, but she is being removed from an indentation in the grill of a Mac Truck.
