Annual Retreat MOUNTAIN OAKS 20TH ANNUAL RETREAT Ironstone Vineyards/Kautz Winery 1894 Six Mile Road, Murphys, CA Friday, January 24, 2014, 8:30A to 3:30P VISION AND PURPOSE OF THE ANNUAL RETREAT: The purpose of the Annual Retreat is for the Mountain Oaks community, from all sites, to come together as a group to build community ties and to focus collectively on the short and long-term vision for Mountain Oaks. This is your opportunity to provide direct input into the vision and direction of our school. WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND THE RETREAT AND BE INVOLVED? Every parent should come to speak on behalf of their child’s educational needs. Tell us what is working for your child. Tell us specifically what programs and services your child needs that Mountain Oaks is not currently providing. Conversely, we need to know what programs and services we are offering that you feel are not important. We need to know your priorities, where you think we should be spending money, and where you think we could cut back. We want to hear what is important to you, your student and our community as a whole. Only then can the entire community make informed recommendations about program changes for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year. High school students should also come to speak on behalf of themselves and their peers. We need to know what you want and this is your opportunity to have direct input into your own education. Your voice counts and it needs to be heard! ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING The Annual Retreat is also the annual business meeting for the school, as outlined in the Mountain Oaks’ By-Laws. We are required to present an annual report outlining Mountain Oaks financial, student and staff demographics and overall program characteristics for the previous school year (2012-2013). This year we will be gathering budget input from our community to develop and adopt a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). RESERVATIONS REQUIRED! YOU MUST RSVP TO ATTEND THIS RETREAT BY FRIDAY, JANUARY 17TH AT 3:30P. Since the Retreat is being held at Ironstone Vineyard in Murphys, we must provide a count by Friday, 1/17/14 at 4P. Please do not expect to attend the Retreat if you have not made a reservation by the deadline. Please call the main school office at (209) 754-0532 or (888)686-6257, ext. 0 to RSVP. We will be providing a continental breakfast and a lunch for all attendees. Childcare is available if requested at the time you RSVP, however lunch will not be provided for children, so please bring a sack lunch for your child.
