Anointing for Extreme Favour - how does it work? by Dr. Siva Moodley All believers have received unmerited favour for salvation, however, some don’t walk in divine favour continually. Simply take a look at the precious saints and you will notice that there are still so many struggling financially and in other areas of their lives. Jesus Christ our Lord, said He will give us “abundant life” (John 10:10) – that means life overflowing. That means life full of favour. So, why do some Christians lack favour, when it is available to all believers? Yes, there will be trials and tribulations but favour is the force that will help us overcome. What is Favour? Favour means: • Something granted, done out of good will or excessive kindness • Treated with preference or given special advantages • Divine assistance • Kindness and Grace • Unfair Divine advantage In my walk with God, I see Favour on a daily basis, not just in my personal life but in the life of the members of my church. People receive cars, houses, businesses and other things for free (or at ridiculous prices). Without the neccesary qualifications or experience people get promotions. People left for dead are miraculously healed. Businesses explode while all their competitors are struggling to survive. The list to supernatural favour is endless. God told the Jewish slaves in Egypt: And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass that when ye go, ye shall not go empty (Ex 3:21). That is simply what favour is – you will not go empty. We all know the story of God using Moses to free the Jews from bondage in Egypt and the 10 plagues. The last plague was the most painful: Death of the firstborn male. Soon afterwards this is what happened: The Israelites did according to the word of Moses; and they [urgently] asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver and of gold, and clothing. The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave them what they asked. And they stripped the Egyptians [of those things]. (Exo 12:35-36) Their firstborn had just died yet these people gave away their life possesions to the people that caused the problem. The anointing for favour was so powerful that a great wealth transfer took place. It was not the goodwill of the Egyptians (who were grieving) but the anointing that enabled this transfer. Anointing for favour is the power to enable this wealth transfer. And how much did they give away? The Hebrew text indicates that the Israelites stripped Egypt of its wealth. “And the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous. (Pro 13:22). There is a great wealth transfer going on every day and the anointing for favour is the power that enables it. Yes, it is an anointing !!! I see this anointing strong in my church and there are other churches/ ministries that also have it too. I watch how when people join LPM this favour comes over their lives and when they leave they sometimes leave this anointing also. It is simply an anointing over a man/woman of God. It is an anointing. I have watched for years how when people hook up with Kenneth Copeland, the favour over that man comes over them. There are many other similar ministries all over the world. I have also watched how when people hook up with those people who lack favour, they also seem to lack that favour. This is why Hosea says: “like people like priest” (Hosea 4:6). Always make sure you are under the right spiritual covering. When Jesus returned from being tempted in the wilderness, the bible says He was in the power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14) and went to the synagogue where He declared: The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to… announce the year of the Lords favor.” (Luk 4:18-19) Take note that “year” does not mean 12 months but refers to the current dispensation. In other words Jesus was simply declaring that a better covenant of favour had arrived and guess what – WE ARE LIVING IN IT. Look at these OT scriptures that also declare the same thing: But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth... (Deu 8:18) He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. (Psa 111:6) It is an anointing! Simply attending a church where this anointing is present is not enough. This favour must be enabled and kept active, through faith. How is this done? Honour is the KEY. Honour must be given to God and to the anointing for favour itself. Look at what Paul told the church in Philippi: For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now…ye all are partakers of my grace (favour). (Php 1:5-7) “Fellowship” – is the Greek word “koinōnia” which means partnership, sonship “Grace” – is the Greek word “charis” which means favour. BY HONOURING PAUL – THERE WAS A TRANSFER OF THE ANOINTING FOR FAVOUR TO THOSE IN FELLOWSIP WITH HIM. He then goes on further to say: Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have all, and abound: I am full…But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Php 4:17-19) Paul was saying, I don’t need anything from you because I have favour (Paul was also a successful businessman), however I want the anointing of favour on me (my God) to meet your financial requirements. Honour starts with God: The LORD saith…them that honour me I will honour (1Sa 2:30) If any man serve me, him will my Father honour. (Joh 12:26) This honour that is promised by God is the very favour He is talking about. Remember that we honour with our words, obedience and resources.
