Anon please. Just wondered if anyone can help with this problem. I am deaf & have been offered a place on a cochlear implant programme, the thing is its not in my town. I have to travel by 2 train2 & then bus & need a travelling companion. They will refund me my fares but not those of companion. Also some of the appointments are early morning meaning if I continue on the programme I will have to travel the night before to stay in the town to make the appointments. We are on ESA awaiting appeal & I am having to give up on this chance of implants due to finacial cost & the fact that my partner cannot always accompany me due to his health problems. Does anyone know if there is any finacial help for something like this please?
