Anon question. I have two stepsons. Ages 3 and 5. The 3 year old doesnt listen to anybody. I literally think that he thinks, breaking things and hurting people is a game. I, as his stepmother, am not allowed to spank him in any way, so time out is my only option. but he wont take it seriously. and the 5 year old has just started school, and his mother just moved into a new house and the kids around there are smart mouthed brats!!! And he is starting to act just like them!! example... the other day he was jumping on the bed. I asked him to stop so he did. and two secs later when i turned my back he started up again. I told him again, to get down off of the bed. He laughs at me, jumps a few more times until I walk toward him and then he jumps and hits his butt on the bed. I told him to go to time out for ignoring me and showing disrespect. and while in time out he starts singing, and making little beats on the wall to entertain himself. I say "its time out, not play time" and the 5 year old child said "haha thats what you think" I about lost my temper. But there was nothing else I could do about it. Any tips on what else I can do to get my stepkids to respect me???
