*** Anonieme post *** Once upon a time there was a girl with high hopes, big dreams and a firm belief in miracles and wishes which she translated into prayers. Though she dared not say it out loud, this girl was filled with lots of expectations. Of family, of work, of study, of world peace even. But mostly of love. And although you could mistake this girl for a foolish and naive little girl, she was as realistic as she was dreamy and as big a pessimist as she was an optimist. Even when she tried to fool herself, she couldnt. And God knows she tried. At home, at work, at school, but especially at love. Every day this girl would get up, pick herself up, go out to that one same place and wait there until she would meet her prince charming. Every day would turn out to be a damper, but that didnt prevent her to go out the next day with the same sense of excitement. Convinced, that today would be the day. You see, she met him once. Maybe twice. Probably even three times. Always in that same place. But where she only felt a tingling the first couple of times, she felt as struck by a lightning bolt the third time. She officially got soaked up into his big brown comforting eyes and was forever lost in them. In fact it was so bad, she could only speak about him in clichés from that moment on. And she was hoping hed come back to that same place. Hoping they would get to talk. Hoping he would be the person she thought he was. And if all of the above went well, hoping he would feel the same. She was convinced theyd meet again and every day that went by where she didnt see him, she wouldnt let herself feel down because she knew it was a mere postponement of their meeting. Because she knew the last time they met couldnt have been the last time ever. It just couldnt. And so she gets up, picks all her pieces back together, goes out to that same place and waits for him. Because she knows hell come back. Now you could mistake this girl for a foolish and naive little girl, but I can assure you: you would in fact be mistaken. Because she was neither foolish nor naive. She knew that she prefered waiting forever with an overwhelming sense of anticipation and an unidentified swarm of butterflies criscrossing her stomach than to live in a world where expectations were low and hope all dried out. Where dreams were only for the sleeping, miracles only for the prophets and wishes only for the crazy. And thats why she kept on waiting. Every day with a fresh feeling of a new opportunity. Because somewhere, she just knew. - P.C.-1
