Anonymous: Because Ive seen a ton of posts about thr kirby people around... So heres my knowledge of the while Kirby deal... My husband sold for them for about 2 weeks when he was 18. They dont do back ground checks, some people they hire are pretty sketchy, and then put people through this big long training then they are told to sell X number of vacuums per month. While the vacuums work, they are highly overrated and the cost is ridiculous. Were talking $2000 plus. If they dont sell the vacuums they are pressured to by the vacuum themselves. The entire training program is more to pressure the trainees to purchase a vacuum. Years later his late wife buckled and bought one from a guy who came to the house. Damn it that thing was a piece of crap. Thank God the hubs had worked for him or we would have had to pay out the ass to fix it. Its heavy, the shampoo function might work a handful of times then it starts leaking. I dont care how difficult it is to sell one of those damn vacuums, coming to someones house at 9 at night is rude. Its no different than att and mediacom canvassing neighborhoods late. Its rude. Save yourselves the high pressure sales and ungodly cost. If you see them coming dont answer the door. Also, dont let them in this time of year. The people they target to work for them are desperate, often these are good decent, hardworking people, but there have been cases of some such door to door salesmen (not just kirby) coming back and breaking into homes. Most will not. There are also people who claim to be from kirby to gain access to your home. If you are interested, make sure they show you credentials to prove who they work for and call their office to check. Our family had been in clarksville for over 15 years. Weve seen a lot and had a break in before. Play it safe. Lots of scammers. And for the love of God dont buy magazines from anyone who asks you to earn them points.
