Anonymous Hmong people believe that they are unique and special. They are so proud of their culture and belief. I am Hmong myself and I see things little bit differently. I think that us Hmong are 200 years behind the rest of the first world country in both culture and beliefs. Our beliefs and culture are so prehistoric just like any other uncivilized tribes around the world such as; Native American Indian, native bushmen of Africa, the naked Indian tribe of the amazon, the cannibalism Indian of New Guinea and many other uncivilized tribes around the world. So my question is, why are we so proud of our culture and beliefs that we refused to let go or change? Why we have to keep continue practicing whats called poj ua cia yawm ua tseg, which to me, slow us Hmong down big time in term of competing with other race in academic, businesses and politics. If time equals money, we are wasting a lot of money practicing these cultures and beliefs. Our wedding are way longer and much more costly than any other race. Our funeral are way longer and much much more expensive than any other race. Our ritual practices are way longer than other race. Everything we do are much much longer and more expensive than others. So why are we so proud of our culture and beliefs where all we do is wasting times, money and shoot ourself in the toe to slow us down? We need to change. Keep the good things but throw away the bad things. Throw away anything that slows us down. Stop wasting times. 2 years we should complete AA degree. 4 years we should complete BA degree. 6 years we should complete MA degree. 10-12 years we should complete PhD. 5 years after graduation we should have a nice house with luxury cars. 39 years in America we should have Hmong community shopping center, malls, and business units in one location. So please stop wasting times.
