Anonymous MOM messaged us: It has been nearly 10 years since my son was born with multiple chronic and debilitating illnesses. In the years to follow he would need to be placed on oxygen, have a feeding tube placed to eat, have multiple surgeries, and undergo hours and hours of therapy. We had hoped things might get easier as he grew....than came the autism diagnoses. I love my son with all that I am...but sometimes I am tired and overwhelmed. What surprises me most than anything? The people most involved in our daily lives today are people we never even knew 10 years ago. Respite workers, therapists, and other special needs families that walk the journey with us...and understand the ups and downs of having a special child. Sometimes I am sad that old friends and family members have such a difficult time understanding.
