Anonymous asked, Help! We live in Indiana. My kids will be starting grades 7, 5, 2, and kindergarten, and I also have a toddler. We have always homeschooled. We have used A Beka, Switched-On Schoolhouse, LifePac, and back to SOS. We love Teaching Textbooks for math! My oldest (girl) hates doing anything school-related at all, even reading, though she reads years above her level. The next one (girl) thoroughly enjoys learning and is a bookworm, but drags her feet on completing school work. Our second-grader boy has still not clicked with reading yet, though he is advanced in other areas. Does it sound completely crazy to abandon curriculum, except math, and just spend a year reading classics and trying to let them pursue their own interests, along with some creative writing? How would this work to meet laws and requirements for records?
