Another 1,008 young breadfruit trees delivered to Haiti this last - TopicsExpress

Another 1,008 young breadfruit trees delivered to Haiti this last week. Big thanks again to Cultivaris, Three Angels Childrens Relief, and Droompac. Thanks also to McLaughlin Glazeware Inc., who subsidizes TTFF expenses. TTFF works with wonderful partners! The price of these trees includes royalties to the National Tropical Botanic Gardens and the Government of Samoa, where this Maafala variety originated. These trees are destined for distribution to farmers individually and in co-ops. And by the way, TTFF also has provided 3,000 cashew trees, in addition to over 50,000 breadfruit trees! The second photo shows nearly 100 percent germination of cashew seeds. Cashews are a valuable cash crop, and the trees will grow in many areas too dry for breadfruit. These trees will continue to benefit the people of Haiti, with a little luck, for decades.
