Another Big News for Punjab’s Students LAHORE – Schools, universities and colleges in Pakistan largest populated province Punjab remains closed till 18 January as per government orders. Private School Association confirmed that government issued orders to shut the schools till January 18. Despite clear orders from Punjab government, around 80 percent of schools are without proper security arrangements due to the non transfer of funds. Fears are that the schools will extend winter vacations till January 18, 2014. The proposed security arrangements included raising boundary walls, installing security cameras, walkthrough gates and barbed wires around schools. On the other hand, some private schools in KPK province’s Bannu city have opened defying government orders. A.D.O Private Schools Association maintained that private schools, colleges and universities will remain closed till January 18, 2014 as per government orders. Schools disobeying the order shall face strict legal action and cancellation of registration. The decision on extension of winter vacations will be taken in a high level meeting on January 10, 2014. Earlier, spokesperson of Punjab Government Zaeem Qadri said that there will be no more extension in vocations of educational institutes. Zaeem Qadri said that there will be no more extension in vocations. He said that security plan is completed for educational institutes. Leader of Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz said that during extension of vocations government completes security plans for educational institutes.
