Another Yoga for Introverts response. Again so many thanks (abridged): "I think this is a really valid and novel view point and teaching opportunity… looking at ourselves as energy vibrating internally and externally, and trying to balance it. In regular asana class we are doing that via the poses… when we go too far externally we run the risk of injury and too far internally we fall behind the group practice. To answer your questions: I honor myself everyday by meditating 25 mins in the morning and evening. This creates a calm within that pacifies my introvert. How does tapping into introversion affect your yoga practice on and off the mat? On the mat when I close my eyes I find I almost always get in touch with my internal awareness, and this helps prevent injury, reminds my breath how to be, slows me down, creates calm. From this place I can then find a rhythm or pulsation of muscular release and engagement that flows with breath, that also pulsates with inner and outer awareness. This is a new discovery for me on the mat and I am working on how this can transfer off the mat. I am thinking it has to be a pulsation of inner and outer awareness too but….I have not figured that out yet. When does being alone replenish you, and when does it foster isolation or depression? I am very rarely alone and therefore only find appreciation of that time. Being alone does feel very quiet but bears no connection for me to depression or isolation, as I can feel that surrounded by people. I have found that rest/sleep is the main factor that prevents depression or sense of isolation or overwhelm."
