Another day and Kobane is still standing and fighting. Kobane is fighting for all of us. It fights a culture that plagued a portion of this planet for the last few decades and produced extreme ideologies. We knew this culture before it become so religious in 1980s. We are still collecting the little bone of children and women who were killed and placed in mass graves in their Anfal operation in Iraqi Kurdistan, still marbles and little toys next to those little bones defying the burring sand of the desert and its scorching sun to be a witness against their killers. We are still treating survivors of their attack by poisonous gas on Halabja. A culture that fails to address and face its short coming and always ready to blame others for its failure. A culture that produced ideologies that consider Jews are all evil and need to be thrown to the see, and that West has nothing to do except conspiring against it, Kurds are nothing just traitors and need to be eliminated, Christians who lived there for centuries are nothing more than bump that need to leveled in their vision for society, Yezidies are no more than non-believers who should be enslaved and killed. It makes sure that it never runs out of enemies. As we send our sons to defend the victims of this culture and protect the world from its danger, we need to put thier belivers in front of a mirror and help them to address the root cause of the misery they brought to region, and themselves, which is the extreme culture and ideologies it produced.
