Another day, another model. This time its Monograms A-7A converted to an USAF A-7D. This kit came out in the early 80s and was the only A-7 in 48th. (except Auroras which was ...) The conversion wasnt too bad (no fuselage cutting). I filled in the As guns, added; the 20mm bulge and vent door, refueling hump on the spine, blade antennas to the fin cap and opened up the steps. I added a little detail to the cockpit, dropped the flaps and kicked the rudder off center. For a couple of years the 388th TFW at Hill AFB, helped sponsor our annual model contest, so I thought, why not 388th TFW, 3rd TFS, at Korat AB, Thailand, circa 1974.
