Another day, another story... :-) Well, it was a quick trip to... see the Doctor, for blood work ( & go to another office so they could pack a sample in ice, before analysis...Really? O.o ) ... The bank...& to Wally World, to buy some needed groceries... As I ran parallel to a set of AMTRAK-Santa Fe rail lines ( a known hot-spot for talking both DX & local ), I finally got to wave to Mark Daniels - Spiderman & Wonder Woman, out in their mobile... Sure took awhile, huh, Spidey ? LOL! ...But, we finally logged the 1st of ( hopefully ) many, many more QSOs... He was sounding good, w/ an S6 to S7 signal, & good, loud audio... Then, as I approached the blood lab, that Texas Tornado out on his Jo-Gunn 7-element ground plane started poundin on my noodle! ... Whew !... 40+ db over S9 ... :/ ... Loud-*ss base radio... Always good to talk w/ David, & after I came back out, he was doing the servicing on that Watermelon truck in preparation for rolling down the Highway for a road-trip for Thanksgiving... Always fun to do mobile-to-mobile, on 11 meter hobby radio... My thanks to Brian Smith @Trucks CB Sales, & to Luke Miller from BBi for my skip-talkin 4WD beam antenna mobile, it keeps amazing me how well it talks, w/ minimal help from conditions & Mother Nature... Its truly a blind-luck miracle, but even the blind squirrel can find his nuts , sometimes! :-P ... Happy Thanksgiving to everyone... Ill be resting at home, continuing to recover, & listening on 895 & 915 for those voices on the wind that I call my friends .... :-) ...... 73s from Los Angeles! :-D I refuse to answer, as I could implicate myself, & every existing member of Congress,.. Over! BEEP !! :-P
