Another difference between a Statesman and a politician. I have - TopicsExpress

Another difference between a Statesman and a politician. I have never and will never be a fair weather partner. A partner is exactly what I am attempting to become when we form the community partnership. Which is one pillar of the theme to the Think Sheriff Vote Schuman campaign. I am not the type of person that looks at what you and thinks “what can this person do for me?” I am the type of person that thinks, “What we can do together?” I promote getting informed and having the best candidate fill the position. There seems to be going away now a days. Be it as a soldier or as civilian police officer I have been in service to the public for over 35 years. I have fought for and have lost good people that have died for, the rights that makes this country, good and bad, the best to live in. I promote respect. Ideally that would be mutual; but I also believe respect is earned. One of the easiest steps to earn respect is to give it. Even when it is not due. Remember, most of the time the respect is given to the position, not to the individual. People should know by now that I look at a lot of things in a different manner. I do not believe the majority of our community are sheep that thrive off of being feed anything and lead into issues that only benefit a selected group. I believe that this community, just as the majority of America, is feed up with being told what to think and lead down the wrong path. What we confuse with sheepish behavior might be better described as fatigue or shell shocked. A lot of people have enclosed themselves into a protective bubble and do not want to hear anything because of this. I realize that the work ethic of “do the best you can and be judged on your own merit” doesn’t always fly in politics. We have more, positioning, appeasing egos, telling people what we think they want to hear. I have received backlash because of allies and friends that I have. I except people for what and who they are. Some will disagree; however, nobody is perfect. I realize asking the same thought process out of EVERYBODY might be asking too much. It does work, believe it or not. It is my belief that there is only a very few percentile of humans that are pure evil, so give people the benefit of the doubt. We find whatever works for us individually. I hope you have found that mechanism helps you continue to have clear conscience. I have been advised by some people to watch myself that the campaign trail can be draining. I run this campaign the same way that I run my everyday life, that being with honor and respect for my fellow human. The only drain is trying to reach everybody out there and spread my thoughts. It is not draining in the way that some politicians act. That being two faced and insincere. What you get from me is my beliefs, the way I was brought up, what makes me the person that I am. So be it chipper or tired I don’t have to put up a fake front. What you see is what you get. During the course of this campaign I have met some very good people. The majority of the people I talk to agree with me, at least while I am around. For those that don’t agree that I am the best candidate for the office of Sheriff, that’s okay, even those that want insist on being offensive. That is one of those rights that I have and will continue to fight for you to have. I am trying every angle I can to get the word out there. We can always disagree, however let’s strive to learn something every time we agree or disagree. If you agree, please spread the word. Recommend that people check me out. They can go to Facebook and friend me Dave Schuman and obtain a deeper insight into my thinking. Suggest while there they go to “Think Sheriff Vote Schuman” again, also on Facebook and “Like” that community page. Or they can e-mail me at boundaryidaho20@gmail I am not hard to get ahold of. Good, bad or indifferent I am willing to talk to you about anything. It is time we stop having people in office that are not in it for all the people. Let’s cut through the bologna and get down to business. I am attempting to step it up and form that partnership. If the election goes a different way and you are not happy with whoever else you put in there. Just remember I am constantly trying my best, I’m open to suggestion; but I will never compromise my values. I hope you understand that you will get the service you deserve with me. If that is not enough I apologize. Your thoughts? Dave Schuman, Candidate for Boundary County Sheriff 2016
