Another eventful day..... Maddie had two episodes of low oxygen early this morning and needed to be seen by an ear, nose, throat doctor. They put a little camera up her nose to look at her airway to see if there was any abnormalities. They didnt see anything so they decided she needed and bronchoscopy to see below her vocal cords. They saw a lot of swelling and soft tissue irritation from the breathing tubes being placed and from reflux. They cleared out some mucous and needed to dilate her airway (it was almost swelled shut). When they brought her back you could tell she was breathing better. So, Maddie is getting some steroids (to help with swelling) and reflux medicine. She will need to have another bronchscopy Friday to see if she is healing. They are also going to do the nissen and feeding tube placement while they are in the or. Praying for an uneventful week so Maddie can have her procedure next week and come home.
