Another fantastic event. Congratulations Cher R Best and the Sisters Only Club for a successful 8th Annual Shero Award event held at The Legends Club. This years theme: A Womans Worth was very timely. Cher I remember your start 8 years ago and being the recipient of one of the first ever awards. The event was held at the Lucy Laney Museum with about 25 people. Today over 450 people filled the room. Fabulous array of women from all walks of life. Veeta N Montrell Dinkins was a nominee and Im so proud of her. Crystal E. Neal chosen as The Woman of The Year definitely warmed my heart. Very excited that Capt. Wendy George received the Law and Enforcement award. And Ruthie Garcia the Community Service award. My cuz Velice R. Cummings was a nominee too. Congrats to JaVonne Jones for being the recipient of the Arts award. Dr. Charles E. Goodman Jr. message what does a Ruby look like taken from Proverbs 31 was epic. I never knew how rare rubies are until today. :) - I especially like what Sam Nicholson said. You want something said, ask a man. Want something done, ask a woman. :) - a wonderful affair.
