Another good weekend for the Club on the pitch. The senior second team comprehensively beat St James Gate 6-0 at home on Saturday and made a strong claim for club team of the week! Ross Tiedt notched two, James McGovern, Simon Roche, Conor Corley and Sean Haddock completed the rout. However, they were outdone by the Saturday under 12s who travelled to Celbridge for a cup tie against Ballyoulster United. United are two leagues above Rovers but our lads were sensational in earning a 2-1 win. Again the goals came from the dynamic due of Shane Gleeson and Ross Carey. Meanwhile the under 13s were desperately unlucky to lose 3-1 away to Sacred Heart in their cup tie, Dara Byrne with the goal. On Sunday the Under 10s lost by the odd goal in eleven at home to league leaders Donnycarney. It was a memorable game played in a fine spirit by two excellent teams. The Under 11s meanwhile put up a brave fight against Palmerstown FC but went down 4-0. Over in Palmerstown the Under 16s gained some revenge with a fine 5-1 win. Great performance and a comfortable three points put Rovers top of the league. The goals came from Alex Kenny, Ian Leavey, Aaron Bradshaw, Yohann Confavreux and Ben Davidson. The Under 18s maintained their march toward the league title with a fine 3-2 home win against Manortown United, Stephen Kinsella, Eoin Ryan and Darragh Langan with the goals. The Senior First team and our two SDFL teams did not play.
