Another good weekend for the club. Three games played with two wins and a loss. The Snr As had the Reps out and a number of other unavailable players so most of the team was from the Rebels who had a bye. The Snr As batted first and put on 192 all out. Well batted Nik OÂ’Brien with a well compiled 52 and Nik Putt with 27. Also the old fella Stacey Kerehoma scoring 33 and had a last wicket stand with Daemon Kennett of 45 runs. The boys worked hard to restrict Weraroa to 174. Carlin McGill with six wickets was all the talk at the clubrooms on sat night. Well bowled Carlin. Also Stacey Kerehoma with two wickets and Daemon Kennett and Ryan Taylor with one each. Thanks to the Rebels players who performed well. The Snr Bs had a day to forget as they were rolled by Weraroa for just 56 runs. V Maan scored 24 runs which was the only contribution of note. Bowling second Weraroa scored the runs easily with Alex OÂ’Malley and Ben Harlow picking up a wicket each. The Pressie Blues had a hard fought win over KOB Black. Pick of the bowlers was Liam Pinfold with a five wicket bag, well bowled. Also in the wickets was John Gordon with two, Fraser Bartholomew with his first wicket for the club. Curtis Maclauchlan and Hauiti Rangiuia also picked up a wicket each. Chasing down 130 to win was hard work but the innings was held together by Ricki Te Tomo with a great knock of 82no. The team reached the total 8 wickets down. Another very good start to the season for the club, so far five games played with four wins and one loss. Next week the As play KOB at Donnelly, the Rebels play Weraroa at Donnelly, the Bs play KOB at Paraparumu and the Pressie Blues play Otaki Sports Club at Donnelly. Good luck to all.
