Another great article by Mike T Nelson via Nick Tumminello There are circumstances when an internal somatic focus may be appropriate. Feldenkrais awareness through movement lessons are good examples. However I rarely use internal (or somatic) cues with patients during conventional exercise. Cues like feel your core tighten are relics from a time when bodybuilders roamed the erf. There is hardly ever need to decide if you feel it in your glutes as long as the exercise is performed properly. nicktumminello/2014/12/personal-training-internal-vs-external-cues/
