I think it might be a useful post to the NAWD page with the suggestion that, while the dressage exhibited here is somewhat different in look to that which most WD riders are interested in, one thing that is correctly and consistently exhibited in this video from beginning to end (keeping in mind this is one of the MOST DIFFICULT tests a horse can be asked to perform in dressage) is that this horse is ON THE BIT. It is one of the finest example I have seen in recent years of a horse being this correct (in this aspect) and this consistent. It might also be worth noting for those who dont know, that the horse is wearing what is called a double bridle which means it is a close proximity in points of pressure and degree of impact to the western curb. The rider gives us more than one example during the test that his horse is willing to STAY SOLIDLY on the bit whether being ridden with ONE HAND on the reins or two (itll be a LONG time I guarantee you, before youll see this again in an Olympic level ride in international competition). Finally I would also like to point out that while on the bit, whether the rider has one hand or two on the reins, the horse is NOT over bending in the neck (RK) which so often is seen in dressage (and a fault)! Top ten clip in my list of teaching clips!
