Another hike today, Pilot Mountain, NC. Unfortunately the trails (Jomeokee and the SE section of Ledge Springs Trail is NOT barefoot friendly. Glass mixed into the dirt every so often. Wound up using an old plastic cup that got tossed on the trail to haul some of it out in my daybag. So, Im asking that all you fellow barefoot hikers make other barefooters and the environment safer by removing any piggy-unfriendly trash from the trails. Salem Lake Park, NC is however 6-7 miles of barefoot friendly trails minus the water moccasins. PS: I had go back and get shoes for the first mile, which KILLED my ankles.... so, trash killed me... much like 6-pack rings kill gulls and sea turtles. Quit killing me....
