Another impressive weekend on the courts after a big week of training at ACB for our students. Some ACB rivalry matches played out as the trio of Luke Van Rijn, Jordan Noble and Sean Badewitz for the Nunawading Spectres took on graduated student Casey Marshall and current student Mitch Unwin for the Knox Raiders in the Victorian Youth Championship Men. Knox came out the winners in the match up, with Casey scoring 21pts and Mitch adding 16pts to the teams total, Luke Van Rijn top scoring for the defeated Spectres team with 17pts. In another ACB face off, Joel Smiths Keilor Thunder took on Ambros Eugster and Jordan Lathams Western Port Steelers in Big V Division 2 - with Keilor getting the win, Joel Smith recording a double double with 14pts and 10rbs. Ambros Eugster managed 11 pts for the game - both he and Jordan Latham played back to back matches, first suiting up for the Steelers YL1 team at 5.30pm before playing for the Div 2 team at 7.30pm. Eugster also registered 10pts and 9rbs in the Youth League game, although the Steelers were defeated by Keilor in that game as well. For the girls, Mikaela Dickson helped the LaTrobe City Energy Division 1 team to a 1-1 weekend, scoring 17pts in their win against Camberwell on Saturday night and adding another 9 pts in the loss against Geelong on Sunday. Katie Bluzer was big for Waverley Falcons in State Championship Women, top scoring for the team with 17 points in the narrow 6 point loss to Hume City. **Applications for our July intake are now open, if you are interested in learning more about ACB please contact our Athlete Recruitment Managers, or email [email protected]**
