Another local Montgomery Bell connection; Rock church of Christ on Rock Church Road. The original rock building was built in 1826 by Bell and his slaves. Originally built as an iron ore storage building, it became a church around 1860. The massive front doors came out of the old St Thomas Nursing School in Nashville, they were added around 1940s . It is the longest-established congregation in Dickson County., and I attend Worship services here. The building is on the Historic Register. The valley behind the building was flooded by an earthen dam to provide hydro-power and regular water source, most of the dam is still there although some of it was taken out to release Jones Creek back to its natural stream. I invite everyone to come visit us during regular Worship services.
