Another of our wall drawings. My eldest is passionate about Nerf guns. The two of them have Nerf battles which work to very specific rules regarding how you score points based on which body part is hit. They also do target practise. This is a close up of the target. It started out as a traditional shooting or darts bullseye. But that wasnt very accurate when it came to practising for hitting each other so it was developed into this crazy creature! I love the energy and effort they put into the details of the character, as well as allocating numerical scores for different areas. They did this while our babysitter was looking after them one evening. My first thought was Im so pleased they had so much fun with Ben while I was out!. This target got much use with Nerf guns but also sparked other conversations and story telling which may not have happened without the creative freedom they had in the first place. One way to make space for wall drawing is to have a wall in their bedroom that is theirs to draw on as much as theyd like. Some of the best times, for us, have been the drawings weve done together.
