Another oldie but a darn goodie from the first volume of DCs Trek comics! Following the events of STAR TREK III the search for Spock: the montly comics continued where the gang left off on Mt Seleya. Like STIV would do two full yrs later, the comics had the crew return home and stand trial. Only this time it ended up with KIRK and friends getting the USS EXCELSIOR instead of a new Enterprise 1-A. Soooooo as the all NEW adventures of the Excelsior were underway, all of a sudden comes the return of the MIRROR UNIVERSE!! What was great about this particular era in Trek comic history is that there was an anything goes vibe. I cant imagine a comic company today that would have taken the road DC did inbetween STIII & IV. Mirror Spock and newly resurrected Spock teaming up to fight Klingons! MIRROR David Marcus interacting with his father!! The EXCELSIOR vs the mirror ENTERPRISE !?!.... this was mind blowing stuff for a 11 yrold comic trekkie geek like myself. Ive gushed about the creative team plenty of times in my other reviews enough by now. You guys know how much I dig this era of DCs Trek series. I hope this issue brings a smile to your face as it still does to mine. * oh and check out those vintage DC advertisements I scanned. I wonder if that DARK KNIGHT mini ever took off? hmmmm. ;) But what do you guys think?....
