Another question for the group is how popular was Chariots of the Gods book or theory in the early 1970s? Certainly 2001: A space Odyssey was about Aliens having contact or even with there intervention made mankind what is today. This became the reoccurring theme of season 1. I didnt recall many (if any) series with this same theme until Battlestar Galactica which seemed to Chariots of the Gods very seriously and was the core of the series mythology. The original StakTrek had one episode that had a more or less alternate earth where the Roman Empire didnt fall and at the end of the episode the coming of Christ is about to happen and just decides to fly away, even as a young kid I thought WTF? Anyways Space:1999 (Y1) with Black Sun, Another Time, Another Place, collision course and testament of Arcadia has a HUGE tone of higher power watching over them. This is now becoming more and more a excepted Notion with Ancient Aliens, StarGate and even in Prometheus that mankind as been visited or spawn from some Alien entity.
