Another random heart-thought: I used to think that the lolz cat bible translation was cute, funny, clever, all in good fun... But after three solid months of reading and studying Gods Word, applying it to my mind and heart, and seeing its Truth instruct me and others with whom Ive shared it, literally changing lives, I no longer feel this way. I have a serious respect for the Bible, now. I have a reverence for God I didnt have before. I have learned of Gods sovereignty, of His might, wisdom, and mercy, of His Sons unbelievable sacrifice, of the powerful work of the Holy Spirit... God surpasses anything I could ever dream of. I even feel awkward about calling Jesus my friend, because He is GOD, my salvation, my strong tower, THE Way to the Father, THE Truth to the world, and Jesus is MY LIFE. He is Love. He is Light. God is the epitome of perfection, the ultimate authority, the Creator and sustainer of my life. And I cannot understand why I ever thought it was cute to butcher, make light of, and otherwise disrespect His Holy Word by calling Him Ceiling Cat and thanking him for my daily cheezburgerz. All this to say that I want to encourage Christians to take the LORD and His Word seriously. Maybe youre thinking Im being unreasonable, stuck up, boring, prudish, self-righteous, blowing this out of proportion, taking this too seriously... To that, I offer this: GOD is serious enough about your life to have sent His Son to DIE for you... The least we could do is respect His inspired perfect Word. 1 Corinthians 13:1 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I reasoned as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
