Another solid weekend of racing, with good numbers heading north to Noosa tri and performing well in a big field. In an even bigger field of 50,000+ was Deb Tennant tackling the New York Marathon in cold and windy conditions. Deb debuted with a 4:45 with her splits indicating a well-judged tempo, despite pushing into a cool wind for the majority of the course. Impressive times from most of the Noosa crew, with some PBs and some getting back into the groove after a hiatus. Ellie Luhr was well within her target time, a good sign for Forster next week. Although missing her goal by 31 seconds, Sarah Brazenor was still at the point end of her division, and had a good battle with Hadley Black throughout the day. They finished in 2:30 and 2:32 respectively. Sticking to the race plan Michael Gad got the balance pretty close, stringing together a solid run off the bike in posting a 2:36 finish. Well done to Caron Mackie, beginning to get back to full fitness and building in confidence from week to week. Good to see Jo Magill back on a start line... yep it may have hurt, but she pushed through to notch another finish. Carrying a delicate ankle from her touch football excursion last weekend, Nicole Martin clocked a 3:22. Michelle Clarke continued her family dominance, again trouncing her brother-in-law in their annual challenge at Noosa. Consistent 3:37 finish time, and now two weeks in Thailand to regenerate. Maddy Clarke kept her Mum honest, both on race day and in training, and looked comfortable finishing in 4:18. Happy birthday for today Maddy. Turning the clock back a few years, Sinclair Black carried his Kona fitness into the race for a 2:23 and reclaiming the title of fastest triathlete in his household. Good races also from run squad regulars Chris Rowthorne, Tim Chapman, Ian Nash, Jen Hoyle and ex-pat Aimee Sutton.
