Another time God knocked my socks off: About 15 years ago, Joey was admitted to Brigham and Young hospital in Boston for mitral valve repair. Hours after his surgery I was visited by a doctor who told me that the situation was much more serious than they had anticipated. Joey would have to remain on a ventilator for two more days. It was 9:00 at night and I was alone in Boston, trying to sleep in the waiting room. I called up my minister and talked to his wife, Katy . I told her the situation and I was so scared I was crying. She said she would contact the prayer chain. I fell asleep in the chair (I slept in the waiting room all week). At midnight the ICU nurse woke me up saying Joey wanted to see me. When I went in his room I noticed that the ventilator had been removed. The nurse told me he had rapidly improved and would likely be moved to a regular room the next day. Now THATS the power of prayer!
