Another update...Chase was feeling good enough to leave the hospital yesterday, although he still wasnt completely comfortable with the idea. We headed straight for the RonDon, expecting to spend the evening relaxing, doing some walking around and staying ahead of the pain, but as soon as we hit the door, we were offered 4 tickets to go to the sold-out season opener for Gonzaga mens basketball. I was a little concerned about the stairs and the crowd, but Chase wanted to go so he gladly accepted the tickets...then I quickly texted Heath and Gary to make sure they left Troy right after school so they would get here in time for the game. It was a great game and Chase handled the stairs and everything else like a champ, so he was very glad he got discharged when he did. I thought he would be on painkillers all day today, but I dont think he has taken one yet, so he is bouncing back quite nicely. I dont think he was totally convinced when the nurses kept telling him about the benefits of getting out of bed and walking around, but it seems to have done the trick so hes probably more of a believer now. He received a visit today from KREMs Hayley Guenthner (the princess from his interview), and we also got to catch up with the Davis family from Missoula - Kevin, Carolyn, Parker and Emma...was great to see them again. Hoping all goes well this week and Chase finally gets to start this last phase of treatment before going into maintenance...if blood work is good on Monday, he should have another spinal and chemo on Wednesday and Thursday and then maybe we will be headed home by Thursday or Friday!
