Another very cool story from a lady on the interwebs: A friend - TopicsExpress

Another very cool story from a lady on the interwebs: A friend of mine who was anti-Muslim for no other reason than years of listening to and believing stereotypes and media bias recently changed her long held opinions. At a hospital there was no where for her to sit in the waiting room and she was extremely unwell. A Muslim lady wearing a Hijab got up and offered my friend her seat. My friend was somewhat reticent at first and then accepted the seat and sat down. The two ladies then engaged in a conversation the result of which was my friend changing the views she had held for so long. When she recounted the event to me she said, she was so nice, fancy offering me a seat and staying to talk and comfort me while I waited to be seen in emergency. She was just so kind. Hence, that one exchange changed my friends perspective in a instant, whereas the many occasions Id tried to persuade her to re-consider her views had no effect at all. Now my friend willingly and quickly rebuffs any anti-Muslims sentiments expressed by anyone by recounting her personal experience of the beautiful and kind Muslim lady who gave up her seat and offered compassion to her when she was so unwell.
